Rolling Cube

Rolling Cube is the first published game I developed with my friends when I was 16. I was self learning Brackeys’ Unity tutorial (I remember it was a series called ‘How to make your first game’), and I took a step further – I implemented mechanics and details I thought are cool! Rolling Cube’s prototype was hence born.

Rolling Cube was mainly made by a team of three people: Me (lead designer, programmer, level designer), Quix (programmer, level designer, localization, publishing), Bob (Music, SFX), and we get many help from our friends.

We published this game on Steam (PC version), Google Play and TapTap. To be honest, the outcome was quite unexpected – when we published the game, I thought this game is total trash. Turns out, we got over 70,000 downloads and many player actually loved it!

Looking back, this project might be the main reason that makes me wanted to game development in my future career. Our studio, Kayphoon Studio, was also formed during the process of Rolling Cube’s game development.
